About Andre Faro Leite

  • Graduated in 2008 André took his first steps in Private Dentistry in his family’s Medical Centre. Having worked in Portugal  until the the following spring, André decided it was time to expand his horizons in the UK in view of achieving further academic qualifications and enhance his skills.
  • Andre has an MSc degree (Distinction) in Implant Dentistry from Warwick University and was awarded the prestigious PGT Faculty Prize (Warwick Medical School) for achieving the best overall score of the masters degree. In 2019 Andre also achieved the Diploma in Dental Implants from the RCSEd (Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh) and the PGCert Orthodontics (Warwick) with merit.
  • In October 2013, André was offered the role of Clinical Director at Inspired Dental Care. André is an assiduous presence at CPD & Training courses since day one. Before enrolling in the MSc in Implant Dentistry, André attended two one-year foundation courses in Dental Implantology at ITI Centre and GIFT. André has also completed a one-year course in Advanced Cosmetic & Aesthetic Dentistry in London. Having completed a one-year training in adult orthodontics (2013-2014) he is also a certified Invisalign® provider. André,  completed advanced training in Periodontic techniques in Switzerland and is fully trained to deliver facial aesthetics treatments such as dermal fillers and botullinum toxin since 2010.

During your first visit, we will discuss your dental history, conduct a through examination and propose a treatment plan. The visit lasts about 45 minutes.

The crown (replacement tooth) is custom-made to replicate the appearance, shape, and fit of other natural teeth. It is then affixed to the abutment, completing the tooth replacement process.

What does the procedure involve, and how long does it take?

The dental implant procedure typically follows a set of standard steps and requires a few visits to complete.  Initially, a qualified dental professional conducts a thorough assessment, including reviewing the patient's history, performing a dental examination, and discussing a comprehensive treatment plan. Since each patient is unique, the overall treatment duration varies based on individual needs, medical and dental history, jawbone health, and the chosen technique and materials. The timeframe can range from a few months to over a year, for more complex cases.

The next stage involves the placement of the dental implant under local anaesthesia. After this surgical procedure, patients need time to heal before proceeding to the restoration phase. During the healing period, typically lasting from a few weeks to a few months, it is crucial to maintain good oral hygiene. This time allows for the bone around the dental implant to grow and fuse with the implant surface, a process known as osseointegration. Once adequate healing has taken place, an impression of the dental implant site is taken by the dental professional.
